Start here: The Ultimate Guide to 13 Different Types of Schools Across America That is more national and generalized, but every state and even down to towns/neighborhoods presents choices, people simply don't know about them. Then comes the plethora of home schooling resources: Home Study Resources and Curricula from the Department of State. Lots and lots of places in between public school and "$30k for private school" for educating the kiddos. If LGBT_lmnop_expialadocious crap bugs you as a parent, there are plenty of alternatives.   Today, 08:51 AM uggabugga   Location: deafened by howls of 'racism!!!' 52,921 posts, read 34,751,425 times Reputation: 29396 Quote: Originally Posted by Volobjectitarian Start here: The Ultimate Guide to 13 Different Types of Schools Across America That is more national and generalized, but every state and even down to towns/neighborhoods presents choices, people simply don't know about them. Yeah, I used "like a dozen" as an off the cuff way to say "more than two." I wasn't trying to be specific or pedantic. Point being, there are options, with some states/towns having more than others, depending on how authoritarian the local government feels like being. The concerned, involved, proper parent who is opposed to indoctrination should seek out such alternatives. Simple. Don't leave it to indirect "slow change over the next century" politicking, just get in there and solve the problem yourself.   Today, 09:12 AM ditchlights   Location: Southern Willamette Valley, Oregon 11,332 posts, read 11,087,961 times Reputation: 19859 Can a single liberal out there tell me why that with all the choices for reading material out there, these books are the ones chosen for kids under 11 y/o? Liberals always say that there is no agenda. So what is this crap then? The sheer arrogance of the left is stunning.   Today, 09:16 AM Steve-C Status: "I Choose Freedom Over Democracy!" I disagree with this, but that only makes me a "selfish person". Therefore, if I have an obligation to take care of other people's children, I also have an obligation to decide how those children should be taken care of. It makes no difference where a parent sends their kids to school and it makes no difference whether a tax payer has children or not. So saying that this gender indoctrination problem can be solved by simply "taking kids out of public schools" is a moot point. The government's and school boards answer is "to heck with what you want, we're going to forcibly take your money anyway". You have absolutely no say.   Today, 11:15 AM Volobjectitarian   14,040 posts, read 5,673,772 times Reputation: 8685 Quote: Originally Posted by Pilot1 The government's and school boards answer is "to heck with what you want, we're going to forcibly take your money anyway". You have absolutely no say. This. The town I lived in for twenty years had 18 specific school levies in that time. I voted nay every single time, yet 16 of 18 passed. Nothing going on in those publics schools had anything at all to do with me. Please register to post and access all features of our very popular forum. It is free and quick.
