All this stuff about generations and the daft labels for them that exist is arbitrary and inconsequential. Somebody just made it up to divide people. Who cares if my mum and dad were hippies but I listened to Nirvana? They were working class people and so am I, our class interests are the same. Our different experiences growing up and our different musical tastes aren't enough to divide us because we're family and we help each other.

I'm convinced that at least some of these labels were made up by someone who works in marketing to more accurately target different demographics to sell them things.
